Tempo 19th August Texture Manchester.

Tempo is back on the 19th August 2017 at Texture 67 Lever Street in Manchester’s Northern quarter for another fantastic night of Deep Soulful House.

After our fantastic event on the 20th May 2017 were really please to welcome on board for their debut appearance at Tempo,
David Bailey and Steve Reed (aka Blackwax).

……………………..……………………..……………………..……………………..….

DAVID BAILEY.

David Bailey is a name that has become a firm favourite amongst house music’s most dedicated dancers all across Europe, from dazzling crowds at House music’s most respected events and by taking the charts by storm with his signature production style and bass driven soulful sound.

Hailing from a steep background of soul, with his mother feeding him the delights Chaka Khan, Earth Wind & Fire and Curtis Mayfield from an early age, it is no co-incidence that David’s sets are fuelled with Soul and typify his roots and early influences.

Having started out in 1994 spinning regularly at local parties and events all over East London, he has worked tirelessly to becoming one the most sought after DJ’s in the city, holding residencies at Deep into Soul, Groove Odyssey, Mi Casa & M.E.M as well being a guest spinner at many other parties all over the UK.

David has also spread his message across the globe, playing in Ibiza, Amsterdam for ADE and most notably created his name as crowd favourite at last year’s Suncebeat festival in Croatia, wowing crowds with some unforgettable boat party and beach stage set’s that have gone down in history.

2017 continues in the same way, with David continuing his successful production projects, with a string of scheduled releases and remixes, this hot talent will continue to grow in stature and reputation, with a building, dedicated following, that you will see and hear across any dancefloor he plays to, look out for this name, as it is one that you will become very used to hearing in the near future and for many years to come.

BLACKWAX (STEVE REED).

Blackwax or just plain Steve Reed and has had had the pleasure of playing music to people as a DJ for over 20 years now.

For most of my adult life I worked in record shops and then had the pleasure of running a shop that some friends started, this is how the name Blackwax came into being (Blackwax Records.) I have listened and collected a wide range of music, including soul, house, disco, hip-hop and more; I still incorporate many of these styles into my DJ sets and productions.

As a producer I released tracks with artists and labels including Tone Control Music, Pirahnahead, Poji Records, Jazzloungerz, Canvas, SOL, Soul Free, A Deeper Groove, Soulfunktion and Tony Humphries Tony Records.

Varying my styles, I always try to evolve and keep the sound fresh and current whilst remaining influenced by my musical past.

I hold residencies at Bump N Hustle in Bournemouth and the Vocal Booth Weekender every year in Spain along side doing local parties such as Brighter Days and more.

So thats me a nice bloke that loves to share his passion for music to a smiling dance floor.

Warming up the night for us we welcome back Karen Griffith (Vocal Booth Weekender/House Legends Weekender).

KAREN GRIFFITH.

Miss KG otherwise known as The Grifter is an avid music fan and thinks nothing of travelling the length and breadth of the country or overseas to hear her beloved music played by her favourite DJ’s.

Although a well-seasoned clubber KG is a raw and unknown quantity in DJ terms and is respected for her credentials and her extensive musical knowledge.

To date Miss KG has played in the Goldmine Room at Scottish Soulful Weekender and for Vocal Booth Weekender in Spain for the past two years running. In addition has had guest mixes on Housecall with Shane D, Bump ‘n’ Hustle Show for Bournemouth Radio FM with Bob Povey, Stereotype on Diverse FM with DJ Paks and iCulture Radio Show with Richard Earnshaw. KG has recently joined The Deep End, presented by DJ Pugwash, for a 60 minute monthly mix every Sunday from 10pm-12am.

Miss KG simply lets the music do the talking and enjoys play deep and soulful house music or anything in between to achieve a positive yet funky vibe. She is very excited to be on the line up for the second instalment of Tempo and hopes you’ll enjoy her special brand of beats ‘misbehavin’!
